Customer Support Tech

Rackforce Networks Inc. is looking for a motivated Customer Support Tech in our Kelowna offices.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide courteous and professional technical support both oral and written to customers and peers
  • Troubleshoot technical issues with regards to operating systems, PC hardware, software, and network connectivity
  • Respond to customer questions in a timely manner
  • Working well with little to no supervision on general duties and providing assistance to networking, sales, support technicians and management as required
  • Escalate technical calls and tickets to the appropriate department
  • Commit to quality in every customer interaction
  • Various other duties as required.

Recommended Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or post secondary education in computer studies complemented with experience in troubleshooting computer and/or network problems
  • Knowledge of Linux Operating Systems such as RedHat, Fedora Core, CentOS, Gentoo, SuSE and/or Debian
  • Knowledge of Windows 2003 and BSD would be an asset
  • Previous technical support experience, either oral or written
  • Capable of working various shifts including weekdays, weekends, mornings, evenings and statutory holidays
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of hosting industry and control panels such as cPanel/WHM and Plesk Reloaded would be an asset
  • Knowledge of SW-Soft's Virtuozzo would be an asset
