Looking to reduce your ICT carbon footprint and verify your emission reduction? You've come to the right place. By fall 2011 RackForce in partnership with CSA (Canadian Standards Association) will be providing an ICT GHG Reduction Project Calculator and Documentation Tool.
Customers moving ICT infrastructure from inefficient data centers (pretty nearly every data center out there private or commercial at this time) or moving IT workloads to RackForce's Cloud will be able to reap significant carbon savings for doing so. Carbon reductions can range from 1⁄2 to 1⁄100th depending on the full scope of the project.
The reason is RackForce's carbon footprint is about 2% of a standard North American datacenter. This is achieved through a combination of the highly efficient GigaCenter design (Forecasted PUE = 1.38) combined with its low carbon hydro power source.
This ICT GHG Reduction Project Calculator and Documentation Tool can be used to either generate a GHG Reduction Project Report for ICT projects that is conformant with the requirements of the CSA Registries with the potential to verify emissions by a third party in order to create Verified Emission Reductions, or to generate estimates of emission reductions and generate a report useable for Corporate Sustainable Reporting.
